Daniel E. Horner

Retired Army lieutenant colonel from Carlisle

Daniel E. Horner, 47, of Carlisle, died June 12, 2001, in Carlisle.

He was born October 1, 1953, in Bedford, a son of the late Floyd Eugene and Shirley L. Otto Horner.

Mr. Horner retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel.

He participated in the ROTC program and was a graduate of University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Horner was twice married. His first wife, Karen Egolf of Germany, and his second wife, Millie Telga of Moon Township, both survive.

Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Horner of Moon Township and Kyle Horner of Germany; two brothers, Randall Horner of Aston and Brian Horner of Gardner; and his maternal grandmother, Alberta Otto of New Paris.

Services will be held in Pleasantville, with burial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home of Pleasantville is in charge of arrangements.
