James C. Coen

Korea veteran was military adviser to Saudi Arabia

James C. Coen, 70, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Cecil Township, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in IHS Greenery of Canonsburg.

He was born November 26, 1930, in Cecil Township, a son of James Burl and Mary Brewer Coen.

Mr. Coen was a Korean conflict veteran, retired after 22 years of service in the U.S. Army. He was then employed by Vinnell Corp. as a military adviser to Saudi Arabian National Guard, retiring in 1990.

Mr. Coen was a member of American Legion Post 137 of St. Augustine.

Surviving are a sister, Imogene C. Dalbo of Canonsburg; two brothers, George D. Coen of Washington and William L. Coen of Upper St. Clair; and eight nieces and nephews.

A sister, Ilene Coen, is deceased.
