Viola Pearl Shipp Moon, 73, of Spraggs and formerly of the Lake Lynn area, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

She was born May 27, 1928, in Cheat Neck, W.Va., a daughter of James A. and Olive Spacht Shipp Sr.

Mrs. Moon was a homemaker who enjoyed looking after her grandchildren, bingo and her Beanie Baby collection.

On February 28, 1947, she married John W. Moon Sr., who survives.

Also surviving are a son, John W. Moon Jr. of Masontown, W.Va.; four daughters, Rose Sroka of Scenery Hill, Sue Fowler of Waynesburg, Candy Lapping of Waynesburg and Tammy Yoney of Mt. Morris; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, James A. Shipp Jr. of Smithfield; and two sisters, Emily Hegedis of Lake Lynn and Alberta Bodkins of Butler.

Deceased are two daughters, who died in infancy; and a sister, Thelma Shipp.
