If you would like to communicate with other researchers who share your interest in Washington Co., PA then please consider joining the PAWASHIN-L email discussion group. This is a much more responsive forum for asking questions from a large group of people with an interest in genealogical research in Washington Co.

31 March 1998 - Today we added three Crumrine chapters:  West Finley Twp., Smith Twp., and West Bethlehem Twp.  Additionally, we added a new home page link and two new articles.

21 March 1998 - We've added a couple new township histories. Also added a couple new home page links, a new article, updated the libraries page with links to antiquarian search engines, and two new Beers articles.

14 March 1998 - Thanks very much to our sponsor for May 1998.  We added two new personal web page links. E. Finley township from the Crumrine History have been transcribed.  On the libraries page, we added a link to an on-line, searchable database that includes Citizens Library of Washington Co., PA.

8 March 1998 - Installed new index page for the Observer-Reporter Obituary Archive; be sure to "reload" that page.  Also added list of newspaper microfilms available at the Greater Canonsburg Library.  Added another article to the articles page, and added another lookups volunteer.  Uploaded 22 articles for the Bell Anthology.

The government agencies page and the cemeteries page have been updated with information gleaned from traffic on the PAWASHIN-L email discussion list.  A new researcher has been added to the regional researchers page, and a entry was added to the list of personal web pages.  Two more articles were added to the Beers Project, leaving only 7 left to do. We've started transcribing chapters from Crumrine's history, specifically those pertaining to townships and boroughs.  And finally, we have had a reader come forward wishing to sponsor this site for April 1998.  Thanks!

22 February 1998 - Check the links to personal web pages for a new entry. Also, the email address for one of our lookups volunteers had been entered incorrectly on our web page.  The problem has been fixed, and you should now be able to contact Wanda Deitemeyer from that page.

22 February 1998 - Today we added 9 articles to the Beers Project.  The Beers Project only lacks ***9*** articles now!  MANY, MANY THANKS to all the volunteers who rallied to the call to finish the project.  The end is in sight!

16 February 1998 - We've added the Enon Baptist Church cemetery to the cemeteries page and we've added a lookups volunteer. Also, another reader has made a contribution to the articles and documents area.

And we added a new article to the documents and articles section.  We have updated the libraries and newspapers pages to reflect new information about the the Manderino Library and the newspaper microfilms in its holdings. Also, please be aware of the area code changes affecting southwestern Pennsylvania.  And this just in: we've added a link on our census page to Ancestry HomeTown's 1790 census index for Pennsylvania.

7 February 1998 - Today we made some changes to the main www.chartiers.com page.  Hope you like them!  They include adding a note about the name Chartiers and about computers in genealogy in 1975.

2 February 1998 - In addition to the two articles added yesterday, we have three more new ones today. Also, we inadvertantly broke a link to the Oaths of Allegiance which is fixed now. Finally, one new personal link was added.

1 February 1998 - We added some new information to the cemeteries page relating to the Millers Run cemetery, Covanter's cemetery, Calvary cemetery in Charleroi, and Speer Spring cemetery in Canonsburg.  You may have heard of the GenForum which houses discussion lists for over 4000 surnames.  We've added a link to GenForum on our Surnames Registry page.

4 January 1998 - The McMillan family reuion has been scheduled for August 1.  We've also added a few more documents and articles.  Also, two of our look-up volunteers have had to reduce their load, so before you send them any repeat requests, be sure to review the updated lookups page.  Finally, on the history page, we've added a link to fine site dedicated to the National Road Heritage Park.
